The Murray Arms Hotel is a typical solid stone Scottish building, situated in the centre of St Margaret's Hope.

Over the years the hotel has been extensively renovated and is now regarded as a fully restored village centre Inn.

We have a total of 5 bedrooms, 2 single rooms, 2 double rooms and 1 twin room. All rooms are en-suite, have colour TV's, radios and tea/coffee making facilities.

In addition to catering for resident guests, the hotel is also popular with local people. There is a Public Bar with Pool Table, Darts and other bar games. A varied menu of hot and cold meals is served daily until 9:00pm Menus can be seen here

St Margarets Hope has the Smiddy Museum (old blacksmiths museum), The Croft Gallery, Hoxa Tapestries and an excellent 9 hole golf course.

It is on the island of South Ronaldsay which has many historical sites, from World War II battery emplacements at Hoxa to the 5000 burial site at Tomb of the Eagles. The island itself is connected to the Mainland by another historical site - the Churchill Barriers.

Orkney also has many things to interest visitors, whether it is diving the naval wrecks, seeing the wonderful scenery and wildlife or visiting the many archeological sites, like Skara Brae. For a more information see Links section on the Useful Information page.
